whats cool this week is the site ubuweb.com. It is the best collection of avant garde art links I have ever seen. Everything from a William Burroughs interview from French Television, to Henry Miller reading from Black Spring. Andy Warhol, Orson Welles, The Wooster group; many are represented. And with the aid of MP3, and video files, the experience is fuller for those of us not fortunate enough to be alive at the same time. Alfred Jarre would be ubuproud.  Check out the link in Blogroll.

Okay, okay, so some people in the parish have voiced concern with the aim of this blog. “what does is all mean?” “Whats it for?” Well, I could be like the Pope and call you all faithless heathens and then demand more alms, but I wont. This site is about the Pope of Astoria and the parish over which he presides, Astoria, Queens 11105. I, Mr. Coxworth and his humble servant. I act as a religious ambassador from the Pope to the people, and cultural ambassador from the people to the Pope. I am also Astoria`s cultural ambassador to the world at large, with the Pope`s blessing of course. All of the people and places in the videos I have made are part of the culture of Astoria, think of this space as the most comprehensive virtual reproduction of a real place, ever.I have included a diagram for those of us who are strictly visual learners.

 Welcome to Astoria.

Hello, it is I, Mr. Coxworth. Most mornings I rise while the Pope sleeps, and I venture out into the parish of Astoria to act as the Pope`s ambassador, his envoy, his avatar. Usually, this means I get some coffee and walk around for a while until I think of something to do. Which led me to construct a photo essay called “coffe Walk” which is about just that, me getting some java and walking around. It showcases on of the greatest resources of the Pope`s jurisdiction,  the aforementioned Astoria Park. Look for this in the High Art and the New Masters section of the blog.
